What Customers Say About A Wizard, A True Star:

Thank you. I have never used amazon.com before, everything went smooth and the CD came right away.

This is Todd's Sgt. Peppers. I bought this so I could have a new clean copy. I've been listening to this, and many other Todd albums, for decades.

.me and the boys were looking forward to an evening of wine and woman (maybe). don't bother. Later that night, we are at the end of Shotgun Shell road, overlooking the bay, the lights of AC gleaming over the water, and we singing along to the Philly Soul medley (ok Smokey, and the Impressions too).

and John Hayden is screaming at me to TURN IT DOWN. Luckily I have the album, and later the CD.Nazz, Runt, Ballad of TR, Something Anything, and AWATS are essential listening, and Todd 101. I am BLASTING "Sunset Boulevard" so loud, the bumpers are coming loose.

When I hear "Sometimes I Don't Know What To Feel" I'm stunned by the recognition that Todd is verbalizing EXACTLY what it feels like to be 19 and confused. There are so many fresh musical ideas and songs bursting from this one eight track tape that I wear it out. I turn it up to the point where our noses are bleeding, but I don't care. The synthesizer solo is the most exciting piece of music I've ever heard.

If you like Hip Hop, if you like John Mayer, if you like Coldplay. If you know who Thom Bell, Laura Nyro, Mick Taylor, Tim Moore, Jack Bruce, and Roland Orzabal are and you haven't checked out Todd, do yourself a favor.

I listened and love d this cd in the 70's and it was such a trip to dig it again. What with all the Tyler fanfare, the fact is Todd raised Liv Tyler and I think he is a genius with sound. My dad is a working musician at 83 so I know the sounds.

This is much like a concept album (thought the concept is a bit vague - ha). So many songs are fantastic and the overall flow and creativity involved here is great, as well as Todd's willingness to take massive chances that no other "pop" artist would dare take. This is without a doubt in my top three of Rundgren's albums. in that it should be listened as a whole, especially with good headphones late at night when you're by yourself. There are a couple of clunkers here and there, but on the whole this is a masterpiece -- lyrically, sonically (for the time, anhyway), and musically. If you're expecting a bunch of three to four minute pop songs then you will be disappointed. There's really not much more to say. If you're a fan of Rundgren then this is one of the best albums of his to get.
